Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore are looking forward to lock horns in the third match of IPL 2018. With Virat Kohli’s aggressive statements and press conferences prior to the tournament, RCB will definitely start as the favourites against a slightly weak and injury prone Kolkata-based team.
Kolkata will be definitely going to miss the services of Gautam Gambhir as captain and it will be great to see the Nidahas Trophy star Dinesh Karthik that how he will fill in the blanks left by Gambhir. Players like Colin de Grandhomme, Chris Woakes and Umesh Yadav who were with KKR last year have now joined RCB which will attract many fans.
Last year’s two of the most successful spinners in international cricket- Kuldeep Yadav (KKR) and Yuzvendra Chahal (RCB) will play a major role in their respective teams. Along with them, both teams will heavily rely on their other spinners as well with Piyush Chawla and Sunil Narine for Kolkata and Washington Sundar and Pawan Negi for Bangalore.
RCB’s star-studded batting line-up just like every year which includes Brendon McCullum, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli will be a treat to watch for all fans out there. It would also be interesting to see how KKR will use their young, Under-19 stars Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti and ‘Man of the Tournament’ Shubman Gill. Players like Chris Lynn and Andre Russell are definitely among the players to watch out for. After all the questions on their availability for selection, they will look to make most of their recovery and will play a key role for Kolkata.
With overcast conditions and thunderstorms prior to the start of the match, there are 80 percent chances of expected showers during the match which puts it in heavy doubts of being canceled. But under the presidentship of Sourav Ganguly, Eden Gardens’ outfield has a great image and will look not to disappoint its fans.
