After a great start to the IPL 2018, we are down to Mohali for the next encounter between Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils. Both teams will be looking for a fresh start after not so good time in the first decade of the league.
Both teams will be starting their season’s campaign with completely different captains from the last the year. After the comeback of Gautam Gambhir to the DD side as skipper and appointment of star bowler Ravichandran Ashwin as the captain of KXIP, both teams will have very high expectations from this season.
Punjab retained their few players like Marcus Stoinis, David Miller, Axar Patel and Mohit Sharma from the last year while Delhi got back around seven players to keep the core team same. Players like Shreyas Iyer, Chris Morris, Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Shami are some those seven players who look confirmed to play.
Apart from that, both teams look quite balanced with KXIP having big names like Chris Gayle, Andrew Tye and Yuvraj Singh will hold the key positions. Though due to unavailability of Aaron Finch, batting heavily depends on other batsmen. On the other side, after Kagiso Rabada was ruled out from this season’s IPL, Trent Boult will play a very major role. And also after the unavailability of Glenn Maxwell in today’s match, both Colin Munro and Jason Roy are expected to play and both the teams will come out with a mindset to change their fortunes.
