Marc Degli’s life story demonstrates how determination and passion can conquer difficult beginnings. Marc grew up as a single mother’s child because his father abandoned the family before his birth which made his early life very difficult. Their limited budget created financial difficulties while academic struggles persisted and frequent school changes did not benefit Marc. Despite his dyslexia diagnosis he struggled to match the standard classroom expectations. He admitted to feeling like a failure in academics. That environment rejected me because I didn’t fit in.
So, Marc turned to work. Just one week after graduation Marc worked full-time at a startup while serving tables six nights a week and completed landscaping jobs on the weekends. He says the demanding work taught him momentum that his school years never provided.
That work ethic paid off. After securing a job at Dell he pursued Leadership and Management studies at TAFE. Marc started an Applied Cloud Technology degree at La Trobe but he chose to leave so he could focus on real-world learning experiences. “It wasn’t dropping out,” he explains. I just created space to pursue my true life lessons.
Marc developed his expertise throughout his career in the tech world by taking on sales, product, and strategy positions at different organizations. Marc started Blackhawk Alert from nothing and currently holds a board position there. His commitment to mentoring founders and advising startups alongside his investments in chosen ventures shows that true creation from nothing is possible.
His greatest achievement wasn’t about receiving honors or promotions because it involved purchasing a unit for his mother which demonstrated his personal growth.
Marc successfully manages his professional business activities alongside his artistic creative expression. Through his alias art_by_dmar he creates both art pieces and exhibits that delve into identity and the strength required for personal liberation which enhances his commercial work.
Marc states that his role isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room. I dedicate my time to ongoing creation while assisting people in discovering their personal freedom.
