IPL 2018: Mumbai Indians Vs Kolkata Knight Riders Match Preview, Prediction

Mumbai Indians will host the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 1st match of Super Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. It’s one of those must win game for MI now this season.

After an emphatic win in the last game was over KXIP, Mumbai will be high on confidence and will look to repeat to fancy their chances of still qualifying for the playoffs. Their worries also must have lowered down as their middle order batsmen, Pandya brothers have started to perform.

Opening with Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis have given the opportunity to strengthen their middle order by sending the skipper Rohit Sharma there. Yadav has been their one of the most consistent performer in this year’s IPL.

While for KKR, threats are likely to lessen after Nitish Rana is set to join them after being declared fit from the injury. Shubman Gill also performed well in the last match when he was given the opportunity to bat up the order. Also, Dinesh Karthik is in the form of his life where he is not only scoring runs consistently but at an impressive strike rate.

The concern for KKR is the irregular performance of their openers and vice captain, Robin Uthappa. Their fast bowlers are also conceding much runs in the death overs but they are able to pull a victory most of the times.

Both teams are expected to make one change as MI might bring Mustafizur Rahman in place of Ben Cutting while KKR will get Nitish Rana in place of Rinku Singh.
