Massiahg answered a few of our questions below.
How would you describe your unique style of grunge rap?
I would best describe my style as timeless very current to the new generation of hip-hop with an unorthodox, rugged sound.
Of your solo tracks, which stands out the most for you?
“MURK!”, a single I released in 2019 on all platforms, and in my opinion, is a universal record from the lyrics to the vibe throughout the record. The instrumental is vibrant best described as ear candy fully produced by my long time collaborator friend Shayne Sharpe. I hear this song being an anthem worldwide, over time, it’s different. Personally, I haven’t heard a sound or current artist similar to the versatility I’m extracting into these creations.
If you could pick any artist or producer to collab with, who would they be?
I would like to work with Thouxanbanfauni, a record between us would be an absolute banger. We both have similar beat selections with a dominating sound. I’ve met him a couple times, but we never worked together as of yet. On the producer side of things, I would love to work with Travis Barker, the drummer from the rock band Blink-182. It would be an extravagant collaboration to put the grunge style together with a rock vibe it would be different on many levels branching two genres as one.
What advice do you wish you could go back and tell yourself when you started your career?
To be more patient in situations. Everything is generally a process an can’t be sped up. I would also tell myself to continue being consistent with trying new things musically never limiting my ability to redesign sounds. Lastly, to never rush material, everything should be taken time upon so it can receive its full potential.
How’s the progress on your new album “Against The Grains”?
It’s 80% done I’m still going back towards records making sure everything is on point sounding well with the mix. The album will have 10 solid songs from various producers overseas I’ve collaborated with over the years this is absolutely my best work so far as being versatile in a full-length composition. It will be releasing next year in 2021, February 22 on all platforms. It’s coming soon, the wait will be well worth it.
