Sveta Matiunina left Samara, the small Russian village she grew up, in to make a name for herself in the merciless high-fashion modeling industry.  At only 16 years old, she taught herself to speak English entirely from watching videos on YouTube and navigated new, foreign city streets by means of a single paper map.

Becoming “Top Dog” In A Competitive Dog-Eat-Dog Industry

As Sveta started traveling all across the country in pursuit of her new career, she noticed that many of her peers struggled with the ruthlessly demanding lifestyle of being an international runway model.

However, Sveta took the challenge head on and found great, immediate success.  She credits her achievements to always having the mentality of a fierce pack leader.

“In Russia I always had to fend for myself, even at three years old,” she says.

In just a short span of time she commanded the runways for designers such as Rodarte, Hood By Air, Thom Browne, and others.  She became the face of campaigns for notable brands such as Daisy, Lady Gaga and Prada.

From Pack Leader To Prodigious Dog Trainer

In 2020, when the entire fashion industry was being shaken up by the Coronavirus, Sveta began spending her new free time honing in on a different type of skill…

Instead of controlling the runway, she started controlling the dog park.  Sveta began training with her Shetland Sheepdog every single day, quickly impressing friends, family, and other dog owners.

Her ability to train seemingly any unruly dog sparked a chain reaction of new clients all being generated through word of mouth through the city.  Furthermore, having a long list of industry contacts allowed Sveta to train the dogs of Los Angeles elites, carving a new name for herself as a high-fashion dog trainer.

The overnight success paved the way for her new business appropriately titled: Russian Dog Trainer.

Her ability to quickly train not only the dog — but provide the owner with a customized set of instructions to make sure the dog stays trained has proved to be life-changing for her new clients.

“It is very important that the owner understands how to communicate with the dog the same way I am able to.  I give them that ability,” she says.

Sveta the Russian Dog Trainer has become the go-to contact for dog owners in Hollywood and Beverly Hills, offering her training and boarding services to those who desperately need it.
