Kings XI Punjab will face the Chennai Super Kings at the PCA Stadium, Mohali in the 12th match of IPL 2018. Both teams are placed at the second (CSK) and third (KXIP) spot respectively. CSK won their both matches narrowly while on the other hand KXIP lost their previous game to RCB after an easy win against Delhi.

Both teams have seen exceptionally well individual performances with in the form of Dwayne Bravo and Sam Billings for CSK. They are well supported by the experience of Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu at the top. KL Rahul and Karun Nair are a major plus for Punjab. The young Afghani bowler Mujeeb ur Rehman has also impressed all this season.

Injuries to players have been a major concern for CSK. It began with Kedar Jadhav follow by Suresh Raina. South African skipper Faf du Plessis is also recovering from injury and another Protean Lungi Ngidi who flew back due to the demise of his father. Murali Vijay who is expected to recover from his injury may take place of Suresh Raina which can also break the set opening pair of Watson and Rayudu.

Punjab may look to find an option for Mohit Sharma who was very expressive in the last game against Delhi. Except them, not many changes are expected to be seen on both the sides.

In the head-to-head count, CSK have won 10 out of 16 games played between them. Out of the four games played between them at Mohali, CSK still has a 3-1 advantage. Coming to the pitch, a slightly sluggish wicket we expected and dew will also play a major role in the later-half of the match.
