Chennai Super Kings were involved in yet another last ball finish as they defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad by just 4 runs. With this win, they move to the top of the table. Ambati Rayudu won the ‘Man of the Match’ for his amazing knock of 79 runs off just 37 balls.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bowl first. Hyderabad made two changes in their playing XI as Ricky Bhui played instead of Shikhar Dhawan who got injured in the last match and Billy Stanlake came back in place of Chris Jordan. CSK made just one change as Faf du Plessis who got fit made it into the side in place of Imran Tahir.
CSK started very slowly with the bat as they were 27-1 at the end of the powerplay which is this year’s lowest powerplay score. After losing both the openers cheaply, Rayudu and Raina held the innings well. Rayudu played more shots while Raina played an unlike inning for him of 54(43). MS Dhoni came in at number 5 and played yet another finishing knock of 25 runs in 12 deliveries and CSK posted 182/3 on the board which seemed impossible at one point.
Rahul Chahar began bowling for CSK and he was just outstanding with the match figures of 4-1-15-3 which included the wickets of Ricky Bhui, Manish Pandey and Deepak Hooda and Hyderabad were reduced to 22/3. Williamson kept on playing at one end and was well supported by Shakib (24) and Pathan (45) and the match got interesting but all of them got out.
Rashid Khan played a knock of 17(4) to provide some nail biting finish to the game as 6 runs were needed on the last ball with Rashid on strike but Bravo kept his mind cool to ensure a victory for his team.
