Delhi Daredevils defeated the Mumbai Indians by 11 runs to knock them out of the IPL 2018. It was a do-or-die game for them and they just needed win irrespective of the margin but that didn’t happen. Amit Mishra won the ‘Man of the Match’ for his tremendous bowling efforts of 4-0-19-3.

Delhi won the toss and opted to bat and both teams made just one change each in their teams that too in their bowling. Delhi brought back Liam Plunkett in place of Avesh Khan while Mitchell McClenaghan got injured so he couldn’t play and Mustafizur Rahman played in place of him for MI.

Delhi scored some quick runs in the first few overs before they lost both their openers, Shaw(12) and Maxwell (22) inside the powerplay. Rishabh Pant played yet another brilliant innings (64) as he scored his fifth fifty of the season. Vijay Shankar also played very well end for his knock of 43* to help DD post 174-4 on the board.

Bumrah was the standout performer for Mumbai in their bowling with his match figures of 4-0-29-1. While Krunal Pandya and Mayank Markande were the only wicket takers.

Sandeep Lamichhane got the first wicket for Delhi in the form of Suryakumar Yadav (12). Only Evin Lewis played a sensible knock of 48 runs while rest all other batsmen got out cheaply. Hardik Pandya (27) and Ben Cutting (37) showed some efforts towards the end of the innings but it got too late till that time.

Despite Mishra, Lamichhane and Harshal Patel also took three wickets each as they stopped the damage in the middle overs. Trent Boult (4-0-33-1) also bowled well in the death overs to defend the target and end the season on a high note.
