Over the past two years, performing live has been a difficult feat. After this long wait, the Camp Broadway Kids Ensemble finally took to the stage once more at The New York Pops 39th annual Birthday Gala. Performing at the prestigious Carnegie Hall, the 28-member ensemble demonstrated their talents as specially selected individuals. They were selected from a national audition of amateur performers and have finally had the opportunity to perform live once more. This marks the Camp Broadway® Kids Ensemble’s 13th appearance with The New York Pops.
Coming from 17 different states around the United States and from England, the 28 performers included Abigail MacLean, Abrielle Chapin, Alyssa Kiffer, Angelina Tung, Ben Boschee, Brynn Howard, Capri Marandola, Chase Holden, Claire Payne, Elise Levantovich, Ella Goldfader, Erin Page, Lenny Lane, Isabel Asher, Joel Crump, Julian Fernando Correa C., Leyton Carlson, Megan Gibson-Prugh, Mila Shapiro, Ohíya Walker, Raine Lind, Ramsey Whitney, Rebekah Farnsworth, Samantha DiGiorgio, Samantha Fiore, Sebastian Ontiveros, Sophia Tucci, and Frankie Lane.
Led by conductor Steven Reineke, the performance paid tribute to Kirsten and Bobby Lopez, one of the most notable songwriting duos in recent history. The married couple are Oscar, Grammy and Emmy Award winning and are best known for being the songwriting team behind Disney movies such as Frozen, Pixar movies such as Coco, and much more. The performance celebrated the ever evolving legacy of the couple.
