IPL 2018 witnessed another last over finish and this time it came between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Kings XI Punjab at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. RCB won the match by 4 wickets and Umesh Yadav was adjudged as the ‘Man of the Match’ for his exceptional bowling performance.

The match started as RCB won the toss and chose to bowl first. KXIP opened their batting with KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. Both started well before Umesh Yadav came in the fourth over and took the wickets of Agarwal(15) Finch(0)and Yuvraj Singh(4) inside that over.

Rahul looked good at one end where he scored 47 off just 30 balls who was supported well by Karun Nair (29 runs off 26 balls). A good inning of 33 runs off just 21 deliveries by the Punjab skipper Ravi Ashwin helped them to post a respectable total of 155/10 (19.2 overs) on the board.

Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for RCB with his bowling figures of 4-0-23-3 who was supported well by Washington Sundar(4-0-22-2) and rest other bowlers where everyone took a wicket at least.

RCB didn’t start well with their as they lost Brendon McCullum on the second ball of the match. De Kock(45) and Kohli (21) took the responsibility of handling the inning. They managed to do so till both lost their wickets in quick successions which followed by Sarfaraz Khan.

Then the responsibility was performed well by AB de Villiers (57) and Mandeep Singh (22) till both got out in the 19th over providing some twist to the match. But it was may be too late for KXIP to recover and Washington Sundar took the responsibility of finishing the game.

All Punjab bowlers bowled well except Mohit Sharma (3.3-0-45-0) and the story could have been different if their batsman had scored 15-20 more runs.
