Rajasthan Royals defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 30 runs as it ends this season of IPL for RCB as well. Shreyas Gopal won the ‘Man of the Match’ for his magnificent bowling spell of 4-0-16-4.

The match started as Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bat first and they made three changes in their playing XI as Shreyas Gopal, Heinrich Klaasen and Ben Laughlin joined the side. RCB played with an unchanged playing XI.

Rajasthan experimented with their opening batsmen as Rahul Tripathi and Jofra Archer but it didn’t work as the latter got out for a duck. Along with Rahane (33) and Klaasen (32), Rahul scored the major runs for RR as they posted 164-5 on the board.

Umesh Yadav once again impressed with his bowling as he achieved the match figures of 4-1-25-3. He got decent support from only Chahal (4-0-26-0) and Siraj (4-0-33-1) as rest other bowlers were on the expensive side.

While chasing, even after losing Virat Kohli inside the powerplay, Parthiv Patel and AB de Villiers built up the innings well. They were 75-1 at one stage and match was in their hands buy then they lost their wickets like nine pins. They got all out for 134 and couldn’t even play their full 20 overs.

RR bowlers pulled off the match from nowhere where the major damage was done by Gopal. Unadkat and Laughlin also picked up two wickets while Gowtham and Sodhi striked once.

With this loss, RCB’s vows continues in this year’s IPL as well as they failed to qualify for the playoffs. It was a season of ups and downs for them but they could not pull out a win in the end and hence, got knocked out at the end of the league games. With this win, RR have not qualified but it has given them a lot of hopes and the rest depends upon the results of the last day’s matches.
