Sunrisers Hyderabad proved the worth the bowling once again as they defended the low total of 132 in the match against Kings XI Punjab by 13 runs.
After winning the toss, KXIP opted to bowl first as they made two changes to their playing XI by replacing Yuvraj Singh and David Miller with Manoj Tiwary and Chris Gayle. On the other hand, Hyderabad took the field with an unchanged team.
Ankit Rajpoot started really well for Punjab with the ball as he got wickets of their top 3 batsmen inside powerplay. After that, Pandey (54) and Shakib (28) played a matured innings in the middle overs. With the help of Yusuf Pathan’s 21 runs, srh posted a respectable 132-6 on the board.
Ankit Rajpoot ended the innings with an unforgettable spell of 4-0-14-5 fir which he was later adjudged as the ‘Man of the Match’. He was well supported by Mujeeb ur Rahman (4-0-17-1).
Just like every other game, Punjab openers Rahul (32) and Gayle (23) started well with the bat but once they fall, there was no one to consolidate the innings. Rashid Khan (4-0-19-3) once again bowled beautifully, leaving the opposition batsmen clueless. He got good support from other SRH bowlers as well.
Mujeeb brought interest into the match with knock of quick 10 runs in the end but Punjab had lost too many quick wickets, they could never chase down the target.
