Sunrisers Hyderabad will be up against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata for the Qualifier 2. The winner of this match will play the finals against the Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.
The way Hyderabad played in the middle stage of the IPL as they won six consecutive games, they looked undefeatable and assured of playing the finals. But they have lost their last four out of games including one in the Qualifier 1. And if they lose this game as well, then they will be knocked out of the tournament.
Also, it won’t be easy for them to win this match as are playing against KKR, the team that won their last four games consecutively. And the way they won their last game against Rajasthan, almost from a losing position, they will come here with great intent and high confidence.
As far as changes to be made in both the teams are concerned, SRH might play with the same playing XI. With Carlos Brathwaite batting well in the last match, so, it is unlikely that he will be replaced by Alex Hales. Their major issue has been their middle order and now as it’s the penultimate match, a lot will depend on Manish Pandey who plays a major role in their team at that position.
Javon Searles is the only player who might get replaced in this game as it seems like KKR plays with ten players and not 11. The all-rounder has bowled just three overs in two games that he played in which he conceded 37 runs. In batting as well, he didn’t impress much. So, there are possibilities that he might get replaced with either Tom Curran or Mitchell Johnson.
The skies have remained clear and are something similar is expected before and during the match as well. It’s the second last game of this year and a great game is being on offer as two of the best teams apart from CSK, will play against each other.
